Milligram
A milligram (mg) is 1/1000 of a gram and the standard dosing unit for cannabinoid content in edibles, tinctures, beverages, concentrates, and topicals. Regulators universally express THC and CBD dose or serving in milligrams. Colorado, Washington, and Canada all cap a single edible serving at 10 mg THC; Colorado additionally caps a package at 100 mg THC and a transaction at 800 mg THC in edible products. Canada's Cannabis Regulations §102.7 cap an entire immediate container of edible cannabis at 10 mg THC — the strictest regime in major legal jurisdictions. Flower labeled "20% THC" by dry weight contains 200 mg THC per gram. The milligram is also the unit of choice in clinical trials (Epidiolex CBD is dosed in mg/kg/day) and in microdosing practice.
