Session
A session (also "sesh") is a bounded episode of cannabis consumption — one continuous occasion of use, solo or group, typically including one or more hits, joints, bowls, or edible doses. Cannabis measurement instruments such as the DFAQ-CU (Daily Sessions, Frequency, Age of Onset, and Quantity of Cannabis Use Inventory; Cuttler & Spradlin 2017 PLoS One) treat "daily sessions" as a distinct dimension of consumption alongside frequency (days of use) and per-session quantity. Session-level assessment via smartphone-based ecological momentary assessment (EMA) has been used to study within-day use patterns, craving dynamics, and protective behavioral strategies (Prince, Collins, Wilson & Vincent 2020 Exp Clin Psychopharmacol). Session structure — duration, number of hits, number of participants, product type — strongly influences total delivered THC. Citations: Cuttler C, Spradlin A.
