Smoker

A plain, descriptive label for a person who consumes cannabis by combustion. Carries less subcultural weight than "stoner" or "head" and lacks their pejorative-or-reclaimed valence. Predates cannabis slang by centuries as a tobacco descriptor and transferred to cannabis without semantic complication. Increasingly becoming technically inaccurate as dabbing, vaping, edibles, and tinctures expand non-combustion consumption; newer inclusive terms ("consumer," "user," "cannabis enthusiast") are displacing "smoker" in industry and dispensary language. Remains standard in hip-hop lyrics, casual conversation, and self-identification.
