Terpene profile
The complete set of terpene compounds present in a cannabis cultivar, measured as a percentage of total mass via gas chromatography (GC) or high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Total terpene content typically ranges 0.5-3% by weight. Distinct profiles can include 20+ terpenes, with the dominant ones (often myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, pinene, or linalool) defining the cultivar's character. Required on Certificates of Analysis in many regulated markets and increasingly used as the basis for chemovar classification.
