Cannabinoid profile

A cannabinoid profile is the quantitative composition of cannabinoids in a cannabis sample, typically reported as percent dry weight (flower) or mg/mL (extracts, tinctures) from HPLC or HPLC-MS analysis of both acidic (THCA, CBDA, CBGA, CBCA) and neutral (THC, CBD, CBG, CBC, CBN) forms. Regulatory "total THC" is usually calculated as THC + (0.877 × THCA), the 0.877 factor being the mass ratio accounting for loss of CO₂ during decarboxylation. Chemovars are commonly grouped into three chemotypes: Type I (THC-dominant), Type II (mixed THC/CBD), and Type III (CBD-dominant), with rarer Type IV (CBG-dominant) and Type V (essentially cannabinoid-free fiber hemp) described in the genetic literature (de Meijer et al., 2003, Genetics 163:335).
