Loud

Slang for pungent, high-potency cannabis whose aroma announces itself through sealed containers. Traced to mid-2000s Atlanta hip-hop, where "loud" previously described flashy clothing and powerful firearms. Often credited to Gucci Mane's The State Vs. Radric Davis (2009); further spread by 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, and OJ da Juiceman. ⚠️ A competing origin credits the premium strain "Loud Dream," sold for roughly $800 per ounce in early-2010s California before the general sense crystallized. Predominantly Southern and Eastern U.S. usage.
