E-rig

An e-rig is a self-contained, battery-powered electronic dab device that integrates the heating element, water chamber, and temperature control into one portable unit. The category opened in 2018 with the first mainstream model, which combined a ceramic heating chamber, a small glass percolator, and preset temperature buttons in a travel-friendly form factor. Modern e-rigs typically offer four to six temperature presets between roughly 490°F and 650°F, app-controlled heat profiles via Bluetooth, session times around 30–45 seconds, and 25–35 sessions per charge. Heating approaches vary: conduction chambers (ceramic or quartz), induction systems (electromagnetic heating of a metallic cup, eliminating direct coil contact), and 3D or hybrid chambers that heat concentrate from multiple sides. Most rigs accept interchangeable atomizers or chamber inserts to accommodate different concentrate viscosities — a thin live resin behaves differently on a heated surface than a dense rosin.
