Nug run
Nug run is a solvent- or solventless-produced concentrate made exclusively from whole, intact nugs rather than from trim or mixed plant material. It is contrasted with "trim run" (extract derived from manicure leaf trim) and "mixed run" (combined bud and trim feedstock). Because intact flower carries higher trichome density than leaf trim, nug-run starting material is associated with higher terpene content, lighter color, and more pronounced strain-specific flavor in the finished concentrate. The label appears on both solventless products (rosin, hash rosin) and hydrocarbon extracts (BHO shatter, budder, live resin). ⚠️ The "nug run premium" is contested: many experienced extractors argue that properly selected, trichome-dense sugar leaf and manicure trim can match nug-run output in both potency and flavor, and that visual bias drives the price gap more than chemistry. "Nug run" is also used loosely in marketing and is not a regulatory category in any U.S. state. → See also: Nug, Rosin, Live resin, BHO
