Pound (448g)
A pound (avoirdupois, lb) equals 16 ounces, or exactly 453.59237 g. In cannabis wholesale, producer-to-processor and processor-to-retailer transfers are commonly tracked in pounds, with the figure stated as "448 g" — i.e., 16 × 28 g retail-ounce rounding — which is ~1.2% (5.6 g) lighter than the true avoirdupois pound. RAND drug-policy economics uses the true 453.6 g figure when computing illicit-market flows and wholesale prices; state traceability systems may use either, creating minor reconciliation issues between academic data and industry contracts. Note — disputed value: Reputable scientific sources (RAND, NIST) use 453.59 g; many cannabis industry sources and wholesale contracts use 448 g (16 × 28). Both appear in practice and should be disambiguated in regulatory filings.
