Trichome-dusted
Synonym for "frosty" emphasizing fine, even distribution of trichomes across the bud surface (versus clumpy coverage). Used in dispensary and cultivation-magazine contexts as a quality signifier. Trichomes are glandular structures of three principal types — bulbous, capitate-sessile, and capitate-stalked — with capitate-stalked being the primary cannabinoid and terpene factories and the visible "dust." Cultivators assess harvest readiness by trichome color progression: clear (immature) → milky (peak) → amber (degrading). The "trichome-dusted" idiom helped shift consumer evaluation from pure THC-percentage fixation toward holistic assessment of terpenes and resin integrity through the mid-2010s onward.
